Import a CLZ Books export
Verso reads CLZ Books CSV exports directly. There is no format to choose — columns are matched by name.
This guide is built from CLZ Books's documented columns, not yet checked against a real export. If something doesn't come through, tell us — it's a quick fix.
Get the export
- 1Open CLZ Books on a computer (desktop app), or Connect in the browser.
- 2Choose “File” → “Export to” → “CSV”, or in Connect “Maintenance” → “Export”.
- 3Export all fields — extra columns don’t bother Verso.
- 4In Verso: menu → “Data” → “Import library”.
What lands where
| Column | Becomes in Verso |
|---|---|
Title | The title. |
Author | Multiple authors arrive comma-separated. |
ISBN | CLZ exports ISBN-10 or ISBN-13; Verso normalises both for matching. |
Nr of Pages | Page count. |
Genre | Genres become tags. “Subject” works the same way. |
Collection Status | CLZ separates “in collection” from “wanted” — see the table below. |
Shelf or wishlist?
In Collection | On the shelf |
wanted / wishlist | On the wishlist |
Read It = Yes | Marked as read |
What doesn't come along
- CLZ exports a great many fields (edition, binding, series, price). Verso reads the ones above; the rest is dropped.
- Cover images: the exports contain none, so Verso fetches the cover from the ISBN (or you photograph it yourself).
- Anything Verso has no field for is dropped rather than squeezed in somewhere it does not belong.
After the import
Verso shows a report: how many books arrived, how many rows were skipped for having no title, and which columns it could not place. If the file brought duplicates, the “Duplicates” page finds them — which is what Verso is for in the first place.
