Delete your account and data
There are two routes, and both delete the same thing. The first needs only you, and takes a moment.
Route 1 · immediate
In the app
- Menu, top right
- Account & data
- Delete account
- Yes, permanently delete my account
Deletion happens in that moment: no waiting period, no confirmation email, no step anybody has to approve by hand.
Route 2 · within 30 days
If you can no longer sign in
Write from your registered address to with the subject “Delete account”.
Deletion happens within 30 days, and you get a confirmation at the same address.
What happens to your data
Deleted
- Your login, including your email address and password.
- Every library you own — with its books, titles, ISBNs, notes, tags, loans, invites and borrow requests.
- Your personal reading data (reading status, progress, ratings) — including on shelves owned by somebody else.
- Your memberships in other people's shelves, and your notifications.
- The record of your Verso Plus subscription.
- This device's local copy of the cloud data: cache, stored covers, pending writes — before you are signed out.
Stays
- Other people's shelves. A library owned by somebody else is not deleted — you are removed from it, together with your personal reading data. Books you added there stay in the shared inventory: they belong to the shelf, not to you.
- Your local, account-free library. Verso works without signing in, and that part never belonged to the account. It stays on the device — delete it there by clearing the site data in your browser or the app data in Android settings.
Small print
- Backups
- Deleted data may remain briefly in automatic database backups held by our host (Supabase, EU region). Those backups expire on their own retention schedule, at most after 30 days, and are never used to restore a deleted account.
